More About Dr. Jaitley
Hon. Dr. Jaitley has been a veteran of the Indian-American Society of North America for over thirty five years. Hon. Dr. Jaitley is a widely known philanthropist, continuously aiding the Indian-American community as the president of the Indian-American DNC and as President of the Indian Alliance for the Advancement of Indian-Americans .
Hon. Dr. Jaitley has continuously displayed leadership and dedication through his political involvement, bringing the important accomplishments of the Indian-American community into the attention of numerous political leaders. similarly Dr. Jaitley has ingrained American political awareness into the Indian-American people coast to coast in the USA.
At present Hon. Dr. Jaitley is a trustee of the following organizations:
- Trustee of the New Jersey State Democratic Party (since 1990).
- Trustee of the Democratic National Committee (Washington D.C. -since 1991)
- Trustee of the Democratic Leadership Council (Washington D.C. -since 1992)
- Trustee of the Democratic Governors’ Association of the United States of America (since 1993).
Dr. Jaitley was an elected member of the National Steering Committee for the successful 1996 Clinton/Gore campaign. Thus, he became the only Indian American and the only Asian American in the National Steering Committee.
Since the beginning, Dr. Jaitley’s effort in educating the American administration and the American public about issues pertaining to India and the United States of America gain a wider arena of closeness in the understanding and communication among one another. Dr. Jaitley helped clarify the issue of plebiscite in Kashmir during 1991-1992 . Before this there was a constant outflow of statements from the White House in reference to Kashmir as a disputed territory-1990-1991;after Dr. Jaitley clarified the issue before the White House and the US Administration, never again was Kashmir referred to as disputed territory by the administration, but rather Indian territory.
